Google Cloud Blogs

I regularly ghostwrite for the Google Cloud’s blog page. From announcements to editorial pieces, each piece is tailored to the voice of a specific byliner and focused on translating engineering speak into readable, easily digested content that educates and converts.

Goal

Most of my work for Google Cloud (GC) has been specific to their public sector outreach needs. The goal for these is often to deliver news, communicate best practices, or celebrate wins within the public sector as a whole.

Approach

I write each blog from an outline of key points to ensure the core message is communicated effectively. After a rough draft done in the general Google voice, I do a second pass to tailor the blog’s voice to the specific byliner. This helps the audience build a relationship with key members of the GC public sector team. Weaving in keywords, inbound and outbound links, and additional resources are all part of this process as well. My drafts then go back to the byliner so that they can fine-tune the language to their own voice.

Results

Many of my blogs have been cited or featured in outside new publications. They also usually rank in on the first page for the SEO keywords used in writing them. Each blog helps build lasting professional relationships and partnerships for Google Cloud.

This blog written to feature Google Cloud partner Project håp is featured as one of the top results for several related keywords.

Wyoming was the first state to “Go Google” with its government collaboration tools and cloud storage. 10 years later I was asked to write a blog celebrating their achievments and sharing lessons learned for other states looking to make the change. This blog ranks on the first page for most keywords relating to Wyoming and Google.
